AFTER CARE.

With second skin:

  • Noah will apply one sheet of Derm Shield to your tattoo after application. This first sheet can stay in place for up to 24 hours, and no longer. It is normal for blood and fluids to collect under the bandage.

  • After 24 hours, while taking a shower, gently peel the Derm Shield off starting from the top. Gently clean area using an unscented soap and water.

  • Allow area to air dry completely or gently pat with a clean paper towel. Re-apply a second sheet of Derm Shield. Peel off paper backing to expose adhesive side and position the Derm Shield over the tattoo with the adhesive side facing the skin. Gently apply using light pressure, starting from the center to the edges to eliminate air bubbles. Do not stretch the Derm Shield during application. Peel off the plastic layer with the X marks and smooth out the Derm shield.

  • This piece can be worn up to 6 days, but no longer than 6 days. Once final bandage is removed, for the next two weeks, wash the tattoo with soap and water twice a day. Allow tattoo to air dry and apply a thin layer of unscented lotion.

without second skin:

  • Always wash your hands before touching your tattoo!

  • When you get home: Remove saran wrap within 1 - 2 hours after getting your tattoo. Do not re-bandage. Your tattoo needs to breathe, just like an open wound.

  • Wash your tattoo with an anti-bacterial liquid soap and water. Do not exfoliate or use any scrubs.

  • Gently pat your tattoo dry with a paper towel or let air dry.

  • The first 3-4 days: Rub a small amount of lotion. You may use an unscented lotion (with no alcohol in the lotion) like Cetaphil or a tattoo ointment. Make sure to apply the lotion so after applied it is no longer visible - you want the thinnest amount possible. Do not use Vaseline, petroleum, Neosporin, or Bag Balm. Wash, dry, and apply lotion/ointment 1-2 times daily, as needed.

  • After day 3 or 4: On the 3rd or 4th day your tattoo will begin to peel. This is normal! Do not pick at the skin. Begin using a mild, white, unscented lotion, free of dyes or Perfumes.

  • Use lotion for minimum 2 weeks, 1-2 times daily.-
